My Story

I have an MPH (Master of Public Health) degree from UCLA and was awarded the Debenedictis fellowship for nutritional excellence. My undergrad was from the University of Missouri-Columbia where I received a dual degree in Dietetics, and Physical Fitness & Nutrition.
I earned a full athletic college scholarship (gymnastics) through hard work and determination. At Mizzou, I was an Academic All American.
Throughout my career l have held positions specializing in diabetes, gestational diabetes, and as a Program Coordinator for a Nationally Recognized Diabetes education program at UCLA. I am a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE). I have also designed a weight loss program for Mercy Gilbert Hospital (The HEAL program). I do a good deal of public speaking on various health topics.
I have served as a Subject Matter Expert for the American Council on Exercise and as a consultant to several health organizations and commercial weight loss programs.
Recently, I have earned certificates in holistic health and as a behavior change specialist.
Fitness remains a big part of my life and I love hiking, dancing, and yoga. I am a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and Registered Yoga teacher (RYT).
I am a Nature lover. One of my favorite things to do is camp with my husband Chris and our 3 kids. We are on a mission to explore USA's National Parks. We are on #31!
